Ashoka University was pleased to be part of the World Health Summit (WHS) Academic Alliance Expert Meeting on Climate & Wellbeing, held on 24 August 2026 at the Research & Innovation Park, IIT Delhi.
The National Roundtable on “Climate Change, Pathogen Evolution, and Pandemic Preparedness: An Indian Science and Policy Perspective” brought together experts from across science, medicine, public health, environmental research, genomics, and policy to discuss one of the most pressing challenges at the intersection of climate and health.
The discussion explored how changing climatic and environmental conditions can influence pathogen emergence, transmission, adaptation, and evolution, while highlighting the need for stronger pathogen surveillance, genomic monitoring, interdisciplinary research, and evidence-based policy preparedness in India.
We are grateful to all the distinguished speakers and invitees for contributing their expertise and perspectives to this important conversation.
