KCDH-A hosted the Regional Multi-Stakeholder Convergence Workshop for North India

18 Dec 2025 - 19 Dec 2025

Koita Centre for Digital Health at Ashoka University hosted the Regional Multi-Stakeholder Convergence Workshop for North India on 18–19 December 2025, contributing to the national consultation process shaping India’s National AI Strategy for Health. Led by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the National Health Authority, and convened by the ICMR–National Institute for Research in Digital Health and Data Science with technical support from the World Health Organization South-East Asia Regional Office, the workshop brought together over 60 leaders from government, academia, industry, healthcare institutions, and civil society.  In addition to hosting the regional consultation, KCDH-A played a substantive role in supporting the preparation of the National AI Strategy for Health. Through the Koita Centre for Digital Health, the University contributed to the structuring of the consultation framework, refinement of pillar-level discussion prompts, and synthesis of cross-cutting issues emerging from multi-stakeholder deliberations. Faculty and research staff supported the articulation of evidence-informed policy questions, helping ensure that discussions were grounded in health system realities, regulatory feasibility, and implementation constraints across diverse Indian contexts.

Through expert-led deliberations across five strategic pillars including data and digital infrastructure, governance and ethics, workforce capacity, research and innovation, and health systems integration, the consultation reinforced Ashoka University’s role as a trusted academic partner in national AI policymaking. Insights from this and other regional consultations will inform the final National AI Strategy for Health, to be launched at the India AI Impact Summit in February 2026.
