Augmented Intelligent Clinical Support Systems to Aid Decision-Making for Pregnancy Outcomes after IVF

Dr. Rintu Kutum’s lab focuses on building intelligent and interoperable health data frameworks that transform diverse clinical data into structured, actionable information for clinical research and decision support. His research work mainly based on computational health science which includes augmented health systems, health data interoperability, and AI/ML-driven clinical analytics.

Aligned with similar research directions, the proposed project aims to develop an Augmented Intelligent System to streamline patient data management, enhance individualized counselling, and improve decision-making in fertility care. The system will facilitate a uniform, interoperable clinical registry, ensuring quality care, secure data access, and comprehensive reporting across IVF clinics. By integrating multimodal clinical data and intelligent analytics, this proposed framework  will add to operational efficiency, and outcome predictability in reproductive medicine.

This project will address the issue of data management in fertility clinics which has become increasingly challenged due to diverse data sources/points and growing demand for Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART). Additionally, this will tackle the issue of patient counselling practices, which often remains generalized and fail to adequately incorporate individual patient characteristics, prior treatment history, and multimodal clinical variables, limiting personalized decision-making and adversely affecting treatment outcomes. The project has been funded by the Indian Council for Medical Research and is expected to be completed in 2028.
